We will be doing memorization checks via video recording this year. This will make it easier for you to not have to arrange an audition time and easier for our directors to check.
- Only wind instrument students and bells need to submit a video.
- A separate video will be submitted for each piece of music.
- The video must show the student's face to show that the eyes are closed.
- The recording of the full band must be played at the original speed. The recording must be audible in the video as well as the student's playing.
- You must be able to play the recording on one device and record the student on another device. You cannot do both on the same device.
- IMPORTANT! Only submit a video if the music is memorized! Record yourself as many times as it takes to be able to submit a video showing the music is 100% memorized at performance tempo.
- First-year marchers do not need to submit a recording for Star-Spangled Banner.
Directions for Submission
- Use the recording buttons below to access the accompaniment. This must be heard on your recording. Do not change the tempo.
- You must play the recording on a different device than you are recording on. You CANNOT play the recording on your phone while recording on your phone. It will not work.
- Do not play your instrument directly into the recording device. Turn slightly or step back farther to avoid overwhelming the sound recorder. We must be able to hear the full band recording as well as you.
- Listen to your recording before submitting to make sure it worked and that the playing is accurate.
