Beginning Orchestra (Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo)
Beginning Orchestra is for students with little or no musical training on a string instrument. To participate in Beginning Orchestra, students must be at least 9 years old and attend a Music Guidance Survey/Instrument Fitting. The Beginning Orchestra is comprised of the following instruments: Violin, Viola, Cello and String Bass.
The Music Guidance Survey and Instrument Fitting is a time for your child to see and play all the different instruments that are available under the direction of trained personnel. With the information gathered at the Instrument Fitting Interview, we are better able to determine which instrument your child would enjoy playing based on their abilities, and desire.
